Be Floored by a Ted Talk

Creating and playing using words is my love.

It soothes my soul and brings me great strength in moments that I feel weak.

Today, I watched this Ted Talk TWICE and his stories, experiences and words on rejection brought me strength as I reflected on my stories, experiences, and my words.

May this bring you as much freedom as it brought into my day!

Jia Jiang – What I Learned From 100 Days of Rejection

Be Finding Forward

Forward.

Moving not backwards.

Forwards.

Moving in a direction.

Which one will we choose?

Moving from the west to the east.

Finding the dance that takes you forward.

Into your dreams.

Into your spirit.

Into your spidey sense.

Presence.

How does one stay present?

Moving forward?

This is what I have learned and this is what propels me forward.

Taking peeks into the tiny, narrow, rear view mirror to pour gratitude into where I came from.

Gratitude.

Love.

Letting go.

be-finding-forward

Looking straight-forward into my large, expansive windshield watching the exciting places I am going.

Joy.

Peace.

Light.

Eyes, wide open, looking for the gold thread of hope woven throughout my day.

Holding my empty hands of faith.

God’s goodness poured out over all our lives.

Into my hands.

Will we choose to look for it?

Will we choose to have open hands to receive it?

Moving forwards.

Dancing the dance of my life.

Trusting.

Fun.

Faith.

Forward.

Be Saying Goodbye to the Backup Boyfriend

You remember in high school when you dated that guy?

That guy that you kind of knew was not the ideal match for you?

That guy that made you look around and think, “Well, if this doesn’t work out, no worries, I could date  _______________ (insert name of another guy)!”

Do you remember your backup boyfriend?  That OTHER guy that was your friend and that you knew you could always fall back on.  Perhaps its the same backup boyfriend that you made a pact with to marry if you were both single at thirty?

Well tonight, I am saying goodbye to a whole bunch of backup boyfriends.  There are no more backups for me.  I am taking 100% responsibility for my life.   My decisions are mine.  I run my thoughts.  I create my actions.  I can do whatever I want.  I am closing the book on a whole bunch of backups in my mind!

Goodbye to my beautiful backups:

  • My job that was ‘safe’ but not fulfilling, but had a good pension and benefits too!
  • The stuff I keep holding on to because I may “miss it”!
  • A mindset with certain family members that they will always be there if I “need them”!
  • Clothing or workout equipment that I keep around because I may wear it or use it one day!
  • People in my life that are beautiful to look at, but really don’t add any value.  People who aren’t fun nor stretching themselves.
  • Food that stuffs me down, rather than fueling me to rise up.
  • Trying to swim close to shore because “you never know”.
  • Any backups that you could add as you let this land on you?

I can no longer doubt my abilities relying on the backups to help me move forward.   I need to believe 100% in myself, letting go of the backup mindset!

Doubt and belief cannot live in the same space that I am creating.

Growing.

Without backup.

With excitement.

With gratitude.

For all that I am and all that I can do.

Being enough.

Being me!

Be on a Negativity Fast and Positivity Feast

I have learned how to cleanse.

I love the freedom it brings my mind and body!

I have previously fasted from Facebook, sugar and books.

I loved the awareness that it brought.

And when I heard about a negativity fast and positivity feast for 40 days of Lent, I felt like this was the best idea yet!

I love the possibilities that this will bring.

I believe that every word that I speak and write has power, seen and unseen.

I believe that one person, me, can change the world around me by being positive in thought and mind.

I believe that if I am intentional about being positive, I will find positive!

Anyone want to bite off a huge chunk of positivity and feast with me for the next forty days?

Here is what Igniting Hope Ministries talks about during this season:

Let’s all take a big chunk of positivity in uses well as through us and watch what will happen!
This post is inspired by the incredible work Igniting Hope Ministries does affecting the seen and unseen world.

Be Creating a Full Time Family

A family where we can choose to spend most of our time together.

A family where the children have equal time with both parents.

A family that can be full time living life together and part time at work.

My personal definition of a full time family.

A place where we choose our schedule and money is of no consequence.  (What is money anyways, but a concept of trading money for time.) We are working very hard, every day to create residual, freedom income.  Sexy Neck is working with a contractor to create a rental home on our property. I have launched a book into the world and I love coaching people using nutritional systems I love.  The company gives me rebates for supporting and loving people to reach their individual energy, performance, weight loss, healthy aging or even financial goals.

My dreams continue to become reality as Sexy Neck and I walked our boys to school together today.  As he is an educator with similar hours, I can count on two hands how many times he has been able to walk with us to school in the last four years.

I will hold to my full time family vision, not knowing ‘how’ it is going to unfold.   My mom’s death taught me that sometimes we can’t just figure things out, we must walk them out.

With excitement.

With gratitude for each day.

With moments like this.

As a full time family.

Be Breakingdown to Breakthrough

There is a great myth in this world that hard stuff is bad stuff.
A myth that makes us perseverate on the bad and prohibits us from realizing the greater changes that could occur through this hard stuff.

Like working out physically hard at the gym, our bodies are capable of great changes by adding resistance and effort to breakdown our muscles so they can be built up stronger.

When dealing with the hard stuff that comes up in our life, our minds are capable of using these difficult times to create breakthrough and change our lives.

This story is just surfacing to share and bring freedom that is created when a breakdown can create a breakthrough.

Hindsight is 20/20 and there is nothing like watching death unfold to provide hindsight.
Two months after my mom died, it was the season of winter, outside and inside my soul.  The cold had settled in.  It was dark.
Two months after my mom died, I sat down and made a decision.

Would I allow her life and death fill me with bitterness or anger or would incredible good come from a life well-lived?

I chose finding the greater good, trusting God’s goodness and greater plan.   It was an easy choice as a wise counsellor had been teaching me about not judging things as either good or bad, but just noticing them.   In this choice, I daily looked for good while still rowing my boat of grief in the waves of sadness.  Every day, great goodness kept unfolding in front of us.

For this breakthrough moment in that cold, wintery day, I am incredibly grateful.  It has not only provided trips of our dreams, a business that uses all my gifts, amazing nutritional products to fuel our bodies, but an incredible opportunity to grow personally.

With gratitude.

For all we can do.

For the ways we can be.

With intention.

With daily discipline.

And grace.

And humility from the lessons of life

Breakdown creating breakthrough.

Be Open to Feel and to the Endless Possibilities

I have had my feelings hurt many times recently.

I wasn’t sure why.

I ponder these words.

Tonight, I had an aha moment when I realized I get hurt because I am open.

I allow people to tell me about myself.

I permit them to tell me things because it is easier for them.

I have heard that if I lose more weight I will look old.

I have listened as people questioned what I eat.

I have allowed conversation about how I organize my calendar. (Yes, I have colours for each wee boy so that I can keep everyone’s schedule straight.)

I choose to continue to be open.

I choose to deeply feel.

I am no longer taking the easy road or trying to make people feel “comfortable” at the expense of my feelings.

I continue to allow and encourage people to talk about themselves.

I am learning strategies to stop people from talking about and judging me.

I realize that people are hurting deep inside and makes it hard for them to talk about themselves.

I realize that being an open person makes people uncomfortable.

I realize that my life of freedom living with endless possibilities is disconcerting for some.

And yes, I am going to die my hair a strip of purple to show remind me of my ‘shield of faith’.  (with my stylist)

Being open.

No longer hurting.

Feeling.

All things are possible!

Glory.

Be a Motivational Philosopher

Forty-one years old.

I have figured out what I want to “be” in this life!

I want to use my ever-thinking, hardcore mind to write.

Using every word I utter to encourage and inspire.

Pouring light into every person I pass and meet.

Being vulnerable and open myself first to bring that out in others.

IMG_0691[1]

I want to motivate others to find freedom through whatever means works for them.

My company has solutions for everyone.

Untying knots that hold people back.

Shaking things up.

Agent of change.

Helping people dream and achieve their goals.

Achieving my goal of spending more time with that hardworking man behind me!

Using my gift of being a motivational philosopher.

Being.

Me.
