Be Signing Up Just Because Someone Asked

What would you do if you were asked something out of the blue?

Would you consider it?

I was asked to do a five kilometre run on Sunday.

A run run.

A kind of run that racers do.

And I said ‘yes’!

Just like that.

Because I can.

No hesitation.

No fear.

No worries about not being the fastest, or most ‘gazelle-like’.

I said ‘yes’ because I can.

Free.

To do.

To rest.

To say yes or no.

Freedom to be.

Me.

Be Finding You Summer Reading Material

Most people may find this difficult to comprehend, but no I have never read C.S. Lewis’s box set “The Chronicles of Narnia”.

Some people may be gasping out loud.

I just have never wanted to read it.

Until now.

Now, I have an eight year old in the house with a very vivid imagination.

Tonight, we finished the first book in the series.

One down, four to go.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is up next!

What is on your summer reading list?

Be Having a Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday?

Who ever thought of that?

It’s brilliant and I am jumping in with this little ditty from my very first year of teaching in the classroom.

I was inspired by my boys getting their class photos this week.

Ahhh class photos.

Staff photos.

Colleagues.

Friends.

What an amazing group of people at a little country school.

Beginnings.

Throwing it back!

Be Boodangled by Bread

Have you ever been “boodangled”??

Scared and wanting to dangle my bread out the window.

I am a new Costco lover.

And a longtime gluten free eater.

But today I am boodangled as I looked at the expiry date on the bread that I bought.

Should bread I bought in May not expire until September?

I am scared!

Off to dangle my bread out the window and into the garbage can.

Boodangled!

Be Networking

WARNING: It has become very clear, I may need to put a caveat at the top of this post, but I am not going to because I truly feel I don’t need one.

You be the judge…

Three weeks ago, I didn’t know that network marketing was a dirty word for some people.

A trigger.

Words that make you turn and run.

A type of business that makes people start to ignore you.

My family and friends are very supportive of me and my goal to help others succeed in life, but many people aren’t a fan of the type of company I am choosing to partner with.

Growing up, I didn’t know anyone involved in network marketing.  I became exposed to it in University through my husband’s volleyball coach and Sexy Neck’s aunt and uncle but I didn’t really hear or know much about it!

I NEVER had a negative experience.

I NEVER had anyone harass me.

When I started my business five months after starting to use the products and the day after my mom’s birthday, I felt privileged to serve and help people with a product I loved.  I knew the product would sell itself.

My goals were simple with my new adventure:

Invest in myself.

Be vulnerable and share my journey.

Share tools that the company provides.

Create a connection between one of the many experts on my team.

See if this incredible solution based company that helps people have more energy, perform at a higher level, age well, lose weight or create wealth was for each UNIQUE human ‘being’ that crossed my path.

The VERY best thing about this company is that I got to stick in my heart because the company does all the ‘head’ stuff.

Connecting with people.

Listening to goals.

Walking with my ‘network’.

Letting the company do the ‘business stuff’.

Building websites for each associate.

Providing research.

Creating movies and podcasts.

Educating myself and anyone who wants to be.

I have the great privilege to CHOOSE who I work with every day.  And, if someone chooses to buy a product, I get a referral payment added onto a prepaid Visa.  Then, drum roll please, if that person refers someone, we both get a referral payment.

It is an incredible gift to be able to watch people reach their personal goals with this amazing company.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for this opportunity.

Network marketing is a tool to support  myself and others, not harass.

Working on myself.

Helping others.

Working with incredible people on my ever growing team.

Serving not selling.

Creating freedom income through products I love.

Be Saying ‘Yes’!

I have many incredible mentors in my life.

Women.

Men.

Children.

Time.

Life.

Death.

One incredible mentor that I am blessed to know is Linda Lou, my old Principal.

Often when I am living life, her sage wisdom will come into my head.

Last weekend was one of those marvelous moments!

Linda Lou ALWAYS tried to find a way to say ‘yes’ to every person, adult or child that she worked with.  She was an incredible negotiator.  She listened well and she came up with amazing solutions so it was a yes for everyone.

After a few days of feeling like a drill sergeant with my boys: fill your water bottle, grab your hombag, where is your helmet…. I decided to say ‘yes on Sunday.

First I said yes to post-breakfast painting:

and then my oldest wanted to make a brunch buffet for everyone.  (CC had shared earlier in the week that he loved our resort in hawaii because he could take whatever he wanted at the breakfast buffet.)

And then we finished off with some sewing:

Just say ‘yes’ and see what happens.

Creativity?

Freedom?

Joy?

Laughter?

New adventures?

I wonder what will come our way next!

Be Starving Yourself

I was out walking the hills today with a protein shake in my hand in an area called the Cariboo, not the animal caribou, the region Cariboo.

I was looking at the dark green plants and the lush trees and then I got looking at the soil.  The soil looked rich, it looked vibrant. It was alive!

And then I realized that I have been starving myself, unknowingly for many years.

I didn’t feel rich.

I wasn’t vibrant.

Nor would I describe my energy level as alive.

Yes, I ate three square meals per day like my parents told me.

I ate fruit, vegetables, protein, grains, milk products and probably too many healthy fats.  (I love my nuts!)

I even would only eat three quarters of the bag of Costco chips and sometimes I would only sneak down and eat half of the leftover birthday cake.

I was never satisfied with what I was eating.

 I never felt full.

I never felt like I had enough.

I think I was literally starving myself.

Craving salt or other minerals.

Looking for protein in all sorts of sources.

Seeking vitamins but forgetting to take my vitamins.

 DRUM ROLL PLEASE…

Enter into my life a protein shake product that has whey from New Zealand cows that are grass fed and get milked when they want to be.

STOP THE PRESS those OTHER protein shakes or milk products I was consuming may have been made with cows that are injected with antibiotics because of the feed lots that they live in and get stuffed with growth hormone because they don’t produce milk when they are scheduled.

DUDE… Antibiotics, growth hormone, my body was hurting for certain.

 BUT, back to the shakes.

I LOVE THESE SHAKES!

Can you feel the excitement?

 I feel full.

I love the taste.

I feel satisfied.

I have energy.

 I can do ANYTHING!

I did my first triathlon just over a week ago after consuming a shake.  I played competitive volleyball for TEN YEARS and never felt as good as I did during these two hours swimming, biking and running twenty years AFTER my retirement from volleyball.

I am no longer starving my body, my mind or even my spirit.

Full of gratitude for ALL that I can do.

Overflowing with blessings because of this product that has enriched my life in so many ways.

 Come watch the journey unfold.
