Be Watching Time… Tick Tock Tick

Is time rushing by you?

Do you fee the years slipping through your fingers?

What do you think and feel about time?

I have been reading a book called “The Big Leap” and his premise is that “time is not a pressure from outside, that we can make as much time as we need.”   As I read this last night, it was a profound moment.  The examples that he had in the book as well as his thorough explanation on time made me take off my Ironman Timex watch for the first time since I was a pre-teen.

The gloves are out.

The watch is off.

I am taking my time back.

Getting rid of the words, “I don’t have time….”

I am going on a diet recommended by Gay Hendricks of “No complaints about time!”

Feel free to join me on my diet or help me with ridding myself of those words above.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Be Wondering “What to Wear!” NO MORE!

Today is another epic day…. as I head into the second autumn season of life without my mom, I am stretching myself to do things I have never done and I am asking for a ton of help.

On my knees, humbled, baking cakes and asking for help.

Most people don’t know this, but my mom was the force behind my wardrobe for most of my life.  Every Christmas and birthday, I was very, very excited to see what my mom had picked out for me.  (Well, maybe I wasn’t so excited during those teen years!)  For the last two years, my wardrobe has been floundering a little bit.  When you open the bottom drawer of your dresser and wonder, “How did all those black yoga pants and tights get in there?”, you know that you need an intervention.   You know when Sexy Neck dawns the doors of Lulu to buy some undies, that things are getting a bitter tattered and worn.

Today, I am getting a wardrobe intervention.

I have hired a professional!

A person who comes into your home.

Flings open the closet and dresser drawers.

And takes a close look at what is going on in there!

I have done a whole garbage truck full of inner work and now I am very humbled to have Michelle from “What to Wear” come to help me create a matching outside.   I want a suit of armour to wear as I venture into new realms of possibility and begin living my amazing dreams as an author, professional network marketer and present Mama, always and forever.  I am not sure how Michelle is going to get this six foot frame into something other than jeans, summer skirts and black yoga pants, but I am very open to see what she has in store.

Plus, I am excited to never have to ask “What to wear” again?

She even asked me to fill out a form ahead of time… you know that we are off to a great start because I do love my forms!

Be Counting Time?

IMG_1929[1]

We are fortunate to have four, well-rounded seasons in our part of the world.

They flow easily and gently through beautiful hot summers, into a cool, colourful autumn, then a crisp, snowy winter and a mild, life-giving spring.

Can you feel the change in the air right now during this season?

It is almost as though now should be the new year.

The greatest gift of these seasons we are given each and every year, consistently without question is that we are all given the gift of the same amount of time.

No less than another and no more.

What will you do with this gift of your time during this new season?

Will you make your time count or just count the time?

You can choose.

No excuses.

It is your gift.

The seasons come.

Time goes.

Be enough.

Be Leaning into a New Season

When you find change happening all around you,

Lean in.

When you create change in your life,

Lean in.

When you find yourself grieving a great loss,

Lean in.

Lean in to those who love, support and encourage you.

We don’t need to get crazy busy, decide to renovate our homes and put our heads down in futility,

Lean in.

We don’t need to create a “to-do” list that even Martha Stewart and her team couldn’t conquer,

Lean in.

We don’t need to stuff our faces, fill our throats with alcohol or mutter words of negativity to everyone we see.

Lean in.

Lean in to those habits that lift you up, bring you energy, and help you adapt.

Lean in to the five people that will help you.

Exercise.

Read.

Meditate.

Pray.

Laugh.

Cry.

Run.

Sit.

Be.

You.

Leaning in.

Lean in to a new season.

Allow the leaves to change.

The acorns to fall.

The bulbs to be planted and enjoyed during a new season to come.

Whether we want it or not, seasons will change.

Choose to lean in.

Be Hitting the Targets I Set!

One of the best hockey players in the world, Wayne Gretzky, was once quoted as saying: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!”

Before I wasn’t even in the game.

I was working very hard.

Going no where.

I was floating.

Listening to all the chatter around me.

Now, I am listening to the still inner voice inside of ME.

In my life right now I am taking a TON of shots.

Saying “yes” to new opportunities.

Being open to the possibilities.

Allowing myself to feel deeply and go deeper still.

This week, I was on the phone with M, someone that I have known for almost ten years… She is twenty-something and she is a FORCE.

I was sharing with M my last sixteen week journey of setting goals and achieving them.

Here is a photo of this first journey:

IMG_1558[1]

Now after a very fun sixteen weeks of achieving many goals, I was in a quandary. Weight loss is no longer one of my MAJOR goals.  Hmmmmm… Now what?  I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with this second challenge and I expressed my ‘unknowing’ to friend/business partner.

Later in the day, she send me her ideas via text.   My ‘unknowing’ brought out a ‘knowledge’ in her that profoundly helped me and spurred me on.  Isn’t it awesome that she even thought of having “party tricks” as a goal!!

Here is what I came up with because of her awesome inspiration:

And here is me getting started to see where I am at: (It wasn’t pretty!)

IMG_1597[1]

4 push-ups (the last one was with VERY shaky arms)

No chin-ups (I could barely hang there for 2 seconds)

And NOW I am off moving towards the targets that I set for myself.

The ULTIMATE goal is to be the healthiest ME and live the most energetic, positive-infused days of my life with my brood of boys, family and incredible circle of friends.

Be a Tour Guide not a Travel Agent

I have a daily choice to make on how I want to live my life.

My life.

Impacting others.

My choice.

On how others impact me.

I have made the decision that I am going to live the rest of my days as a TOUR GUIDE.

I will be a leader.

I will speak clearly and kindly.

I will explore new places with excitement.

I will be show love and forgiveness to those on this journey with me.

I will try all sorts of new food.

I will jump into new activities.

I will not sit in my desk as a travel agent, but I will lead the tour!

Today, I unveil my new website www.beenough.me.

I will be your tour guide on this journey into being “enough”!

Here I am with my boys:

IMG_7180

I am taking 100% responsibility for MY LIFE.

I am going to neither blame nor complain.

I will continue to LOVE deeply those placed around me.

I will listen.

I will ask.

I will be overflowing with gratitude that my basic needs of food, clothing and housing are completely met.

I am going to live my dream and create a clear vision for my family.

I will allow my path to wander.

I will believe.

I will know that what others think of me is none of my business.

I will set goals and create small daily tasks for myself.

I will look for others who have done what I am going to do.

I will link arms with those who inspire, encourage and love me as I am.

I AM releasing the BRAKES.

Here we go….

Be Going to the Jaguar School

Sexy Neck heads back to work today.  A summer of fun, adventure and holidays that are now just a memory.

As he moves from the Bear School to the Jaguar School, we are very excited to see what all the new experiences our family will have through this school community.

I saw this quote when I was leaving the building.  What a great message to send teenagers.  It is going to be a great year! IMG_0564

Be Keeping your EYE on your Dreams

IMG_1509[1]

My heart and mind overflow with hope.

Dreams are energetic and flow through our family daily.

My vision for my life is unfolding before my eyes.

Can you see the excitement?

IMG_1510[1]

(This photo was taken right after a friend shared a “freedom”moment with me!)

Time + freedom.

Time with my boys and other people that I LOVE.

Freedom to be me.

I don’t know exactly how my dreams are going to “practically” workout, but I know that they will.

I am no longer practical.

I listen to my heart, God, people that love me, those that are doing what I would like to do.

If you see me wander by, give me a high five and know that I am just following my dreams!
