World Cup Football is on!
Our Spanish jerseys have arrived thanks to Tia and Tio.
The washer is running each night so that the jerseys are ready for the day’s activities.

The jersey’s arrived on Mother’s Day:
We had a novel January experience this afternoon – playing in puddles. Where is all the snow?
Auntie H (Sexy Neck’s cousin) offered to help out and she did.
Talk and tea with me.
Play and puddles with the boys.
She shed some tears with me and strapped on the gumboots!
Who can ask for anything more?
Auntie H had to ride CC’s scooter home.
Quack quack!
Squish squish!
Brrrrr….
It’s show time over here at our house.
We have a leather bench full of costumes. The boys usually pull them out once per day to put on a show for us. (Our life is enough reality for us so we haven’t had TV since our oldest was six months old.)
Our current favourite shows are: farm, dolphins, and playing instruments.
Here is our middle guy CC in a pre-show pose:
Sexy Neck has a whole lot of wood around the outside of the house – in his shop, down the side of the fence, under the addition.
Today the boys wanted to have a pajama day. This involved staying home in our pajamas. There was no sleeping to be done though.
The boys took two pieces of boards that were lying along the fence and decided to run, jump, climb along them at various angles and speeds. Strap yourselves in, here we go:
With one giant jump from JC, the board broke in half. This started a whole different type of play.
In my life as a mother, I am never bored!
Hahahaha… I laughed out loud this morning when I looked out the window.
Last night at 6pm, we have friends over to play in the backyard in the sandbox and tree fort(sans mitts, snow pants, boots…).
Twelve hours later we have this:
Hmmm, time to get the snow shovels out again.
God, I love you. Snow is an incredibly powerful, purifying symbol. Thanks for the reminder (and the laughs!)
Off to play in the snow (and encourage some very depressed neighbours!)
Here’s what we ended up making today:
Normally our couches look like this:
These are the cushions in “holiday mode”.
If the boys use our cushions to create chaos (hitting, pushing, yelling etc.), the cushions go on “holiday”.
Most days our cushions are used to make rocket ships, pirate ships, boats, airplanes, forts and caves.
This morning our kindergartener was home sick from school. Our boys had an incredible two hour cushion-fest. It was incredible to see all the creations that they made, including this cave the boys wanted to eat their snack in.
Here is JC’s coming out of the cave!
Our house is made for play. We don’t have a playroom, we have a playhouse.
Our bedroom is the wrestling area, our kitchen table is the crafts/playdough/lego spot, our kitchen is the science experiment/baking place and window sills are meant for climbing.
