I am sure if I looked into the history of Halloween or asked one of my non-Halloween-going friends, we may not participate in October 31st activities. But we do and we do it well!
Decorating the front of the house for trick or treaters.
Getting together with beloved friends to carve pumpkins.
Creating costumes that express themselves and empower our boys. Taking snacks to school to share with classmates during the Halloween party. (This year it was watermelon cutouts.)
Going door-to-door to meet our neighbours and share a story or two. Giving out chips and chocolates to each person who comes to our door.
Looking at photos of our cousins who dressed up.
Being a part of Community.
Loving our Family.
Pouring into our boys.
Eating lots of mini chocolate bars.
Witnessing one of the most incredible sunsets I have seen in awhile.
God gets all our praise for this night and the people who surrounded us this Halloween!
We were extremely grateful to see all four of the ‘big city’ cousins all in one day on Thanksgiving weekend.
One of the set of cousins love getting the costumes out and creating when we visit together. This visit brought out the laughter in all of us.
Just imagine a pint-sized announcer, a green puppy-shirt wearing cutie, a preschooler in a laundry basket, a riding clown and a climbing monkey. Add in the tire swing in our front yard and viola you have a circus.
Enjoy the show:
It’s show time over here at our house.
We have a leather bench full of costumes. The boys usually pull them out once per day to put on a show for us. (Our life is enough reality for us so we haven’t had TV since our oldest was six months old.)
Our current favourite shows are: farm, dolphins, and playing instruments.
