Be ‘Flow’

A word for you.

A word for me.

A word to sit with,

To help me be.

Prayer.

Freedom.

Are a few words I have pondered.

In 2016, I definitely know

That my life will be about

Find flow.

Flow with others.

Flow within.

Flow with finances.

Flow to begin.

Each day.

Each moment.

Each thought.

Each deed.

Finding flow flowing over and around and through me.

Being me.

With flow.

In flow.

Flow.

Be Editing a Book

Have you done something that you find unbelievable?

I live in ‘unbelievable’ right now on a daily basis.

I have spent the last few months pouring my thoughts onto paper through mind maps, on the computer in paragraphs and through old journeys from when I was younger.

And now I am editing these words. Pouring over them with my heart and mind.  I am ensuring that every words represents my message and would make my boys (and my mom) proud.

I am very grateful for Sexy Neck who edits for me nightly, my plethora of friends who are waiting to walk with me as editors and those brave souls, Karen and Rick, who edited my introduction and conclusion already.

I am not sure what form this book is going to take, but I do know that I love living in the ‘unbelievable’ realm.

Living.

Dreaming.

Wondering.

Pouring out.

Getting poured into.

Editing a book.

Be Hitting the Targets I Set!

One of the best hockey players in the world, Wayne Gretzky, was once quoted as saying: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!”

Before I wasn’t even in the game.

I was working very hard.

Going no where.

I was floating.

Listening to all the chatter around me.

Now, I am listening to the still inner voice inside of ME.

In my life right now I am taking a TON of shots.

Saying “yes” to new opportunities.

Being open to the possibilities.

Allowing myself to feel deeply and go deeper still.

This week, I was on the phone with M, someone that I have known for almost ten years… She is twenty-something and she is a FORCE.

I was sharing with M my last sixteen week journey of setting goals and achieving them.

Here is a photo of this first journey:

Now after a very fun sixteen weeks of achieving many goals, I was in a quandary. Weight loss is no longer one of my MAJOR goals.  Hmmmmm… Now what?  I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with this second challenge and I expressed my ‘unknowing’ to friend/business partner.

Later in the day, she send me her ideas via text.   My ‘unknowing’ brought out a ‘knowledge’ in her that profoundly helped me and spurred me on.  Isn’t it awesome that she even thought of having “party tricks” as a goal!!

Here is what I came up with because of her awesome inspiration:

And here is me getting started to see where I am at: (It wasn’t pretty!)

4 push-ups (the last one was with VERY shaky arms)

No chin-ups (I could barely hang there for 2 seconds)

And NOW I am off moving towards the targets that I set for myself.

The ULTIMATE goal is to be the healthiest ME and live the most energetic, positive-infused days of my life with my brood of boys, family and incredible circle of friends.

Be a Motivational Philosopher

Forty-one years old.

I have figured out what I want to “be” in this life!

I want to use my ever-thinking, hardcore mind to write.

Using every word I utter to encourage and inspire.

Pouring light into every person I pass and meet.

Being vulnerable and open myself first to bring that out in others.

I want to motivate others to find freedom through whatever means works for them.

My company has solutions for everyone.

Untying knots that hold people back.

Shaking things up.

Agent of change.

Helping people dream and achieve their goals.

Achieving my goal of spending more time with that hardworking man behind me!

Using my gift of being a motivational philosopher.

Being.

Me.

Be Living with a Surplus

My previous post was me flat on my face again. I didn’t know why but the waves hit me hard and fast after my grandma’s death and subsequent interactions with others.

But the ‘hard’ things don’t push
me down for long anymore and I am grateful for the tremendous amount I am learning about myself.

I am also VERY grateful to those who walk with me, with their honest perspective, throughout these times. You know who YOU are my messengers, phone callers and texters from the last week.

As I reflect on the last few weeks, I realized it has been weeks of me being inundated by people who choose to live their lives from the perspective of a ‘deficit’.

Nothing is good enough.

No one can say the right thing, including me.

Even though they live in a first world country they are never ‘rich’ enough.

Everyone is either taking advantage of them or ripping them off.

But I am now stepping aside from these folks living with deficits because I know this doesn’t work for my life.

Time is precious.

Days are short.

Houses and money will come and go.

Time, I ain’t getting back.

The gift my mom (and dad) have always given me is living a life of surplus.

We had enough, even when my dad started his own business and the money wasn’t flowing. My parents were frugal and saved, and also generous and grateful.

They always donated their money and helped people out financially. They didn’t wait until such and such happened, they just did it.

Mom volunteered her time, was the family organizer and poured into all her relationships.

She had enough.

She was enough.

I need to remember I can ‘be enough’, but definitely NOT to everyone.

Seek those living in surplus.

See what you can accomplish together.

Give freely.

Be enough.

Hugs from the hill:
