Be Taking It One. Day. At. A. Time.

A storm is brewing around me.

A tornado hovering off in the distance.

What path will it take?

Will it sweep me up too?

A physical tornado almost hits a friend’s home.

A friend’s dog gets lost in a forest during a thunder storm. Thankfully, she was found.

My mother has a mass in her abdomen. Thankfully that has been found.

Our house is mid-renovation and it is hard to see through the dust.

A pool contractor has been lying to both my husband and I over and over and over again.

Our deck area sits in disaster for over a month because of this contractor.

The storm swirls around me, but hasn’t touched down yet.

I lay on my face and endure.

I get on my knees and pray.

I rest in my Father’s arms and ask for His guidance and help.

He alone knows my weaknesses and my strengths.

He alone has a plan for my life and wants me to prosper.

He alone is God.

I. Take. It. One. Day. Moment. At. A. Time.

YET, my storms compares nothing to Istanbul or Israel or even the poverty I see on our downtown streets.

I. Take. It. One. Day. Moment. At. A. Time.

Be A Snail Lover

YUCK!

I am coming to conclusion that being a mother to boys is going to stretch me in more ways than them trying to use me as a wrestling mat.

My boys have always loved insects.  I can be outside in the garden and suddenly I will hear, “Butterfly”, “Bee”, “Look”, or I will see them hunched over something on the sidewalk.

I love being a stay-at-home mom because I can always stop and take a look at what they are inspecting.  I can keep little insects alive and I get to slow down and just be.

Our latest insect loving from the weekend: Snails.

No snails were hurt during this photo shoot.

Here are a sequence of photos I took while watching one of the snails.  He ended up touching the lens of the camera.  Awesome!

These photos are not edited.  I was laughing my head off as I took them so that’s why they are a little blurry.

Snails have personality!  Sorry mom that they like to eat your plants.

Be A Spray Painter

I love our contractor.  He has saved us hundreds of hours renovating our new house.  I especially love his spray painter machine thingy.  Yup, I am really getting into this renovation thing aren’t I!  hee hee…

Here are the latest photos from the living room and kitchen – We have had the house for four weeks…

… and we have probably four weeks to go!

Be A Man With A Workshop

Besides being incredibly handsome, my man is handy!

For the past four years, we have lived in a house that we have been continually renovating – windows, roof, build a workshop, painting, garden, hedges, gates, these are just a few of the projects that we have done.

We are now renovating our new house BEFORE we move into it.  In the four years that we lived in the 29th Crescent house, Sexy Neck NEVER got to unpack his workshop.  The workshop was built last year, but due to continual renovations, he never took anything out of boxes.

This week, Sexy Neck unpacked his boxes for his workshop.  You should have heard the excitement in his voice.  It truly was like a kid at Christmas.

I am so proud of my husband for hiring someone to help with our renovations and now for taking the time to unpack his workshop.   AWESOME.  The three boys are going to love all the projects you can make together: bike stand, bird houses, planter boxes  just to name a few that the boys want to do with you!

Be Mexican and Mediterranean

I am unsure of which continent my childrens’ palates come from.

Isn’t cooking for and eating with children tricky?

They love their Mexican food so perhaps they are North American after all.  But meat and potatoes they won’t eat.  Turkey dinner with all the trimmings (turkey, potatoes, salad, cranberry sauce, stuffing…) is YUCKY for my boys.

Throw a plate of cheese, meat and olives in front of them, with some raw vegetables and fruit, the plate will be bare before we can give thanks.

Here was our lunch today:

I combined the best of both Mexican and Mediterranean worlds by adding a few corn chips to the plate!

Next stop: Indian, for dinner!
