Our middle guy turned four today.Happy Fourth Birthday CC.
We always give our boys a choice of cake that they would like us to make. This year it was all about trucks, oh and candy too!
Thanks for always making us smile CC.
We went to the hardware store to look at toilets and we ended up with a great activity for the boys.
They got to participate in a FREE kids program constructing a car. Not only did they get to hammer away, they got a free Home Depot apron, hard hat, ruler, pencil and a car that they had put together themselves.
Here are my proud boys.
Afterwards, my oldest even showed the youngest how to put together his car. Mommy couldn’t manage all three boys with hammers, so the two big boys made their cars while baby OC got lost in the ride’m lawn mower cage. Yes, I did have my first screaming mommy with a lost child moment.
Learning in action! Hammer, hammer, hammer.
Happy Summer!
“The carpenter’s hammer goes rap, rap, rap and the saw goes see saw see.”
Do you know this Kindermusik song?
This song epitomized our Father’s Day. It was absolutely wonderful for the boys and Sexy Neck to work together on a few projects. Our oldest, JC, wanted to make a bike rack for the new house. The boys got dada a fire pit for the backyard so that we could roast marshmallows.
We also cooked muffin tin eggs for dada, I think this is something my boys could attempt on their own next year for father’s day – bread, ham, uncooked scrambled egg and shredded cheese in a muffin tin. Pop it into a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes and viola, lunch for dada.
We also went down to “Purple Park” for a play hang on the new playground and some time at the beach.
As I watched all the children and their father’s coming to the beach, I wondered:
Is Father’s Day really another Mother’s Day?
Stop and take a moment to look at your couch, chairs and pillow (and perhaps some books, a strainer and an umbrella?).
Now take a look at these items through the eyes of a three and five year old.
I am always amazed at what my boys can create from around the house. As long as an item is not sharp nor fragile they are allowed to incorporate it into their construction. Actually, I also don’t allow food nor drink, we save that for the kitchen table.
Today’s anything rescuer machine involved dialogue about helping others, a song and a few toooo to doooo noises. They even took a journey in their transformed helicopter to New York!
This reminds me of the Christmas season and the things I WANT to be doing to celebrate: be an anything rescuer, helping others with a song and perhaps a few toooo to dooo’s along the way!
I had to throw in a lighter post today.
My boys loves to create: Lego, blocks, and paper. They especially love it when Dada gets out the tools and the wood. Today’s creation has been in my oldest son’s mind since the summer.
Tonight, he created his ding ding marble thing. There are some benefits to having dada at home.
I am realizing that ‘hard’ times also bring blessings.
