Be Moving Mountains

One decision over 18 years ago to move to the Napa Valley of the North in the Okanagan Valley, Canada.

One decision to ski at the breathtaking Silver Star Ski resort.

Alpine, nordic, snowboarding too!

We created roots and many magical memories.

A place to find powder.

A place to find likeminded peeps.

A place to find ourselves in the hectic season of life.

And now another decision:

One decision that we wanted to own our own place at the mountain.

One decision to ski at the rugged and friendly Apex Mountain Resort.

Alpine, Nordic, snowboarding and even backcountry too!

We are already putting down roots as we bought the condo from our good friends the Mend’s.

We are creating memories as we paint, wander and make it our own.

Family of five.

Mom of boys.

And a Labrador Retriever too!

Full of gratitude for our own place at the hill.

A place to play in the snow.

A place to make new friends and cherish the old.

A place to find peace in this growing season of our life.

Growth around every corner.

Holding onto our vision.

Raising leaders or leaders.

Creating a band of brothers who love, hold peace and hope and never stop growing.

Be Creating a Culture of Honour (Panda Style)

When you desire a culture of honour and have the privileged to see it face-to-face, it is humbling.

Win or lose.

Good or bad.

Honour stands.

It gives freedom.

It shows respect.

It is empowering.

It involves healthy discipline not punishment.

Culture of honour for me is thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Honour.

Freedom.

Respect.

Empowerment.

Healthy discipline.

My CC, was able to sit in a circle of honour last weekend.

Surrounded by warrior athletes, who sacrifice to help their team become its best year after year.

They are led by their empowering coach, my coach from many years ago when I played Varsity volleyball.

Despite losing last weekend’s match, my son was welcomed into the fold to stretch, hangout and be amongst these warrior women and coaches.

Being present.

Creating space.

Growing.

Allowing being.

culture of honour)

I am reading this amazing book as I seek honour.

Within myself.

With my Sexy Neck.

With my boys.

With my family.

With my friends.

In my community.

Within my business.

Culture of honour.

Honouring myself, which honouring every person who comes across my path.

Be Awed by the Snowbirds

Tonight, the boys and I watched some talented people share their gifts. For me, it was a blast from the past as I remember watching the Snowbirds at the PG airport.

Here are the boys in the 36 degree heat ready to watch the show over the lake. JC had great insight to bring chairs. 20140730-234246-85366511.jpg
Here come the Snowbirds:

Earlier in the day, we had to drop Sexy Neck off at the airport. We were able to catch a glimpse of the Snowbirds one the ground.

How fortunate are we?

It was a Snowbird day!

Talented people sharing their gifts.

Precise.

Flying.

Teamwork.

Communication.

What a show!

Thank you for the memory Snowbirds.

Be Enjoying A Blue Blazer

I grew up in a pretty red-necked town in the north.  The term “blue blazer” was not used very often, but whenever we heard: “It’s a blue blazer folks” on the radio, it got us pretty excited.

Now that I am a “southern” Okanagan girl these blue blazers are aplenty.

What did we do on this blue blazer Canada Day?

Yup, those are my big boys running through the sprinkler in their underwear!

We bought an emergency t-shirt for little OC, as he pooped up the back while we were visiting the “new” house still under renovation.  This hasn’t happened to us in a loooong time.

Lastly, I gave my seven potted plants some loving care.  I can’t wait to take my pots to the new house. You can see my mom’s beautiful garden/pergola/deer repellent in the background.  It is amazing what a little bit of colour will do for a yard, for my sense of peace and sense of home.  Image

Oh ya, I also wiped a lot of snot.  Do we seem to be the only ones with a summer cold?  Snot and coughing seem to be on the agenda for us these days.
