Celebrating our oldest lad.
Seven years since his first breath.
Seven years since I felt his skin and kissed his cheeks.
Seven years of holding, hugging and setting free.
Here are a few moments we shared celebrating seven:
Yesterday was my beautiful mom’s birthday. When we were away, we felt Nana’s presence and spoke about what we could do to celebrate her birthday.
As a family we decided we wanted to bake her a meringue cake. OC helped me.
Our nana loved biking, so we thought a bike ride would be fun.
We ate breakfast for dinner. Breakfast was mom’s favourite meal.
We sent balloons to the heavens.
Lastly, we sang happy birthday and enjoyed Nana’s wonderful cake.
Happy birthday mom! I love you so very much. Your presence is felt more and more each day. You continue to be such a gift and a caring mom.
Heavenward.
Flying.
Sweetness.
Life.
Love.
Peace.
And glory, a new baby girl was born on my mom’s birthday. My cousin’s J and M gave birth on March 30th.
Gratitude.
Joy.
Anticipation.
Peace.
Me: Today is Papa’s birthday!!!!!!!
Boys: woohoo!
JC: How old is Papa?
Me: How old do you think he is?
JC: Five
Me: Well, you are six buddy and your oldest cousin, Justy, is sixteen. What do you think now?
JC: Hmmmmm…. Seventeen!
Happy seventeenth birthday dad! You are incredibly youthful, amazing with the boys and very generous.
We love you very much.
Dad got OC a musical fire truck card for his second birthday. We bought him a Beach Boys musical card. Everyone loved it, especially OC!
And the icing on the cake, my first hug and kiss for my mama. I haven’t wanted to get close to her since I have been unwell for six weeks!
Four years ago, I searched all over our small town for a sun hat. I was pumped when I found this hat until I brought it home.
Sexy Neck refused to allow CC to wear this hat. I won’t share all the words expressed about this awesome hat, but ugly was one of them. Our son never wore the hat.
Three years ago, a very good friend Double D, had a baby girl. She was looking for a summer hat so I decided to pass on CC’s never worn hat. (Yes, I had kept it!)
Double D graciously took my generous gift, but again this hat never touched her beautiful little girl’s head. Instead it has become a three year joke where we pass it back and forth in hilarious ways.
Two days ago, Double D took the cake in returning the hat to me. (I had put it in her daughter’s third birthday gift a few weeks ago.)
Can you believe this?
SHE HID THE HAT IN A CAKE! I had tears in my eyes when she handed me the cake she baked. I felt so grateful. I had tears in my eyes as I cut the cake. Our family was laughing and shaking our head at our brilliant friend.
I guess the hat will be hitting the dress-up box. How can I possibly top this cake?
My boys modelling the hat for me.
Why doesn’t anyone like my hat? I just think it is darling!
