I honour Remembrance Day.
Did you know that there is a little piece of Canada in France? Vimy Ridge is a Canadian Memorial above the Douai Plains. I have ran the trails through the battlefield park, as we lived about 10 kilometers from the park for about 8 months. From a runner’s perspective, the ridge is huge. I can now imagine why it took years to capture the ridge.
I didn’t not go into the preserved trenches. I was too afraid. As a six foot tall woman, I was afraid to get stuck down there! I ain’t no small fry!
Thank you for everyone who has served and serves our country abroad and at home, including policemen, firefighters, ambulance drivers etc.
